Hi, I’m Dr. Amy Olsen. It’s my honor to help your beloved pet and support your family.
I was born and raised in Redwood City, CA. I’ve always had a deep love of animals and knew from an early age that I wanted to be a veterinarian. I attended UC Davis and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2010. I returned to Davis for veterinary school and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015.
After graduation from vet school, I worked as a small animal general practitioner for 6.5 years. During that time, I developed a passion for geriatric patient care and supporting the quality of life of senior pets. In 2022, I made a career change in order to focus exclusively on end-of-life care. I joined a company where I was able to provide in-home euthanasia services and quality of life consultations for families in the East Bay Area and Peninsula. I found the work extremely rewarding and felt that I had found my niche.
In 2023, I started A Life Well Loved. Though it is deeply emotional work, I can’t imagine a better way to honor the human-animal bond than by helping a beloved pet pass away with peace, comfort, and dignity in the comfort of home. It’s an honor to help support families as they say goodbye to one of the most special souls they know. Euthanasia is the ultimate gift of love and I am lucky to be able to witness the beauty of this love every day.
I live in Benicia with my husband, our two young children, and our two cats, Mack and Mama Cat. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, camping, bicycling, reading a good thriller book, playing board games, and following the San Francisco Giants.
